On Saturday, March 19 2022, the Phoenix Group held the Phoenix North American Championships and USA Qualifier hosted by Master William Howard.  Schools from eleven States brought over 200 competitors to compete in patterns, sparring, power breaking, and specialty breaking.  Congratulations to all who participated.  The event was live streamed for the first time.  The top 4 schools in the gold medal count were Midnight Sun Martial Arts Academy from Fairbanks, Alaska with 16 gold, Global Taekwon Do from Houston, Texas with 13 gold,  Poteet Martial Arts from Midlothian, Texas with 13 gold,and Jues Taekwon-Do from California with 11 gold.  

The USA Qualifier portion of the event selected 57 competitors to represent United States at the World Championships in  the Netherlands this coming July.  We are excited and proud to have these competitors representing the USA.  Best of luck to all of them.  The day after the Championships the Team USA members gathered at Cypress Martial Arts for information gathering and light training.  Special thanks to Mr. Robert Webre for opening his school to the athletes.  The photo is of the Team USA competitors after the training.
